Revive Your Keto Diet: Break Through the Plateau with These Tips

The ketogenic diet is a highly popular diet trend, mainly due to its effectiveness in aiding weight loss, which has been well-documented. However, some people may experience a plateau, where their weight loss suddenly stops despite continued adherence to the diet. This can be frustrating, but there are ways to overcome it. In this article, we’ll discuss some tips to break a weight loss stall on the keto diet.

1. Re-Evaluate Your Macros

The keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet. To enter ketosis, you need to limit your carbohydrate intake to about 20-50 grams per day and increase your fat intake. However, as you lose weight, your body’s energy needs decrease, so you may need to adjust your macros to continue losing weight. Use a keto calculator to determine your new macros and make sure you’re sticking to them.

2. Increase Your Physical Activity

Exercise is important for overall health and can also help you break through a weight loss plateau. Incorporate strength training into your routine to help build muscle and increase your metabolism. 5. Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is essential for weight loss and overall health. Lack of sleep disrupts your hormones which can increase your appetite and lead to weight gain. Aim for at least seven or eight hours of sleep per night. Establishing a consistent sleep schedule also helps.

6. Reduce Your Dairy Consumption

Dairy products, such as cheese and cream, are high in fat and protein and can be a staple of the keto diet. However, some people may be sensitive to dairy and experience inflammation or bloating, which can stall weight loss. Consider reducing your dairy intake and see if it makes a difference.

7. Practice Stress Management

Stress can impact weight loss. It can increase cortisol levels, leading to weight gain, especially around the belly area. Try to incorporate stress-reducing activities into your routine, such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.
